Biography of Faith HillAudrey Faith Perry was born on September 21, 1967, in Jackson, Mississippi, but she was raised in the nearby town of Star by her adoptive parents. Faith started singing at an early age and showcased her vocal abilities at family gatherings, local rodeos, fairs, and churches.
She enrolled in college, but it only took a few months for Faith to know that she was ready to pursue a career in country music. At the age of 19, she headed to Nashville to realize her dream.
Faith's first job was at Gary Morris' publishing company, which would eventually lead her to stardom. Caught singing privately by a writer who worked there, Faith was convinced to produce a demo. Gary Morris himself heard Faith's rendition of the song and encouraged her to pursue a singing career.

That same year, Faith began touring with country sensation Tim McGraw. They soon fell in love and Faith broke off her engagement to her former producer, Scott Hendricks. Tim proposed in his tour trailer before one of his shows and they married on October 6, 1996. They have three daughters, Gracie Katherine, Maggie Elizabeth and Audrey Caroline.

In 1998, Faith went toward a more "pop" sound with her third album, Faith. The formula worked, as the album sold six million copies, surpassing her previous releases. The following year, Faith release her fourth album, Breathe, which cemented her status as a pop singer. The title track went to No. 1 on the country charts and No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100, becoming one of the longest-running tracks on that chart. Faith won three Grammy Awards for Breathe, including Best Country Album.

In 2000, Faith and her husband, Tim McGraw, launched their first joint tour, Soul2Soul. It was one of the most successful tours of the year.
Two years later, Faith released her fifth album, Cry. Although the album shot up to No. 1 on both the country and pop charts, country radio snubbed its singles, considering them too "pop." Nonetheless, the album went double platinum and Faith won a Grammy Award for Best Female Country Vocal Performance for "Cry."

Wishing to try her hand at acting, Faith appeared alongside Nicole Kidman and Glenn Close in 2004's The Stepford Wives.
However, the following year, Faith decided that it was time to go back to her country roots and released Fireflies. The single "Mississippi Girl" went to No. 1 on the country charts and restored her reputation as a country music sensation. The second single, "Like We Never Loved At All," a duet with Tim McGraw, received a Grammy for Best Country Collaboration with Vocals.

In April 2006, Faith and Tim embarked on their Soul2Soul II Tour 2006, which became the highest-grossing country music tour of all time. In June, Fireflies was certified double platinum.
In November of that same year, Faith caused controversy by making angry faces at the Country Music Association Awards when Carrie Underwood won Female Vocalist of the Year. She later explained that it had been a joke and that she hadn't meant to insult Carrie.

In 2007, Faith is set to release two albums, including one for the holidays. She also sings two duets, "I Need You" and "Shotgun Rider," with Tim McGraw on his album, Let It Go.
In addition, the third installment of the successful couple's Soul2Soul Tour is running from June through August.
